Book review - "As a man thinketh" By James Allen

Books are considered as a man's best friend .Books enable you to have a glimpse into cultures, traditions, arts, history, geography, health, psychology and several other subjects and aspects of life. You get an amazing amount of knowledge and information from books. Reading develops language skills and vocabulary. Reading books is also a way to relax and reduce stress.

The book I am going to talk about is a piece of must-read advice by all the motivational speakers, named "As A Man Thinketh",which is written by James Allen. It comes under the category of self help Books.

The mind guides our footsteps as we progress along the pathway of lifelife, this is the essence of the book. If you can master your thoughts, you can achieve so much more in life. You become the master of your circumstances. As the title suggests, the book is about how your thoughts influence your results in life. The author James Allen explains that we are where we are in life because of our thoughts, and if we are in an undesirable situation, we have the power to change our circumstances by changing our thoughts because we are the directors of our lives, and masters of our thoughts.

The author kept the book simple, both in length and language, so that everyone could understand the points he was trying to make about how power over one’s thoughts gives power over one’s life.

The major aspects highlighted in the book are:-
1.Just like tiny seeds turn into big plants, a single thought often turns into a major decision, which makes your thoughts the roots of your actions. Over time, these actions shape into patterns, which will eventually make up our character.

2.Nothing else but your thoughts can make you look young or even more aged than you actually are.

3.Always be careful with your words because they become actions and always be attentive towards your actions because they become your habit.

4.Doubt and Fear are the greatest enemies of Knowledge, and people who encourage them, never stop them are the ones who face them in every step of their life.

In a nutshell I can say you start to believe you can be more, do more and experience more when you read a self help book. A daily diet of inspiring words motivates you to explore what you're capable of, and where your limitations lie so you can smash through them. This is how you get stronger and better.
