"Loving someone is good, but loosing yourself in the process is something inadmissible"

As someone who had his share of unrequited love, the good news is that one heals and finds happiness, and it happens when you are ready to go through all the stages of healing from this very painful life experience.  No wonder that people employ all kinds of techniques to get over those who don’t come to love them back. In George Eliot’s novel Daniel Deronda (1876), Rex Gascoigne, after being rebuffed by the dynamic Gwendolen Harleth, begs his father to allow him to defect from England to Canada. Again, we need to see what is happening through the lens of the other person. The love or whatever it was he was feeling for me was long gone. It is that simple. But we sometimes choose the drama. I am glad that I have gone past the denial. I wish my ex and his boyfriend a peaceful life together. And now that I am past the denial stage, I am looking forward to a more peaceful life.
